Po Cha

A famous Bhutanese beverage, it is also known as butter tea. It is prepared with tea leaves, yak butter, water, and salt. A treat on cold days, the tea gets its unique flavor from the fresh yak butter which is used in the preparation.


Similar to momos, hoentay is prepared with buckwheat dough. The dumplings are stuffed with spinach, turnip, datshi and other ingredients and then steamed or fried. Served with Bhutanese chili sauce, it tastes divine and fills your stomach in just one plate.
